Lesson Learned Offline Marketing

have been doing offline marketing with CPA marketing also as I don`t keep all my eggs in one basket. So few days ago I bought a new WSO which was about Groupon Marketing System and it Includes Website, Postcard, Sales letter, Email, as it included each and everything so I decided to set this model up for my offline marketing. My website was up and running and everything, I made few bucks out of it and everything was going good, I hired some people to email businesses who are offering deals on Groupon website.

Everything was going perfect and I was able to see some new subscribers in my mailbox and had all emails setup and scheduled , For mailing I was relying on email templates provided in WSO .
This campaign started on 1st of January and yesterday I received a never ending email with tens of documents attached from Groupon which stated that they are preparing lawsuit against me. And they also asked me to remove all content from my website which was using their Trade Mark.
Actually my website was not Using their Trade Mark at all, But what the problem there was email content As they state in email

Finally, Mobile Performance Tracking

As some of you know, especially affiliates on MobAff network, I’ve been working on a tracking solution to better help manage mobile campaigns. I have finally cracked the code and build a tracker that can capture mobile data about every user you send.

I’ve been testing it internally and with a few select publishers and we’ve run over $150,000 in revenue and over 2 million clicks so far and things are looking great.

Here are just some product features:

Capture Carrier, Handset, OS, Browser, and more without using ad network tokens
7 subid fields to capture any custom data you’d like
Global Server 2 Server postback tracking
Redirect traffic in real time based on mobile paramaters
Drill down reporting to find what’s yielding results

How Much Money Is Lost Waiting? – Sunk Costs In Internet Marketing

Weekend approvals…  One thing I really hate.  My weakest link is my patience.  I’ve heard sayings such as ‘patience is a virtue’, ‘good things come to those who wait’, etc.  While a lot of times these are true, I cannot stand working my butt off only to be left to the liberty of some review team.

Since Affiliate Summit West I’ve been pulling 16 hour days to get our newest website up.  Finally late last week we completed everything and prepared for launch.  For this particular website we buy traffic on paid search.  Thursday evening we finally garnered some volume from Microsoft Adcenter.  Friday morning things were really rocking until 2:00 p.m. everything stopped out of the blue.

Given this is not an arbitrage website, and after confirming with the phone support team, it is not an editorial issue.  But for whatever reason I’m no longer getting any traffic.  According to Microsoft’s support team, they’ve escalated the issue to another department that is not available on the weekends.  16 hours a day for nearly two weeks and I’m left waiting to see my hard work pay off.

While waiting for Monday to get here I decided to start-up another campaign on pay-per-view. Again, I submit my ads, and am left waiting for the review team.

If calculated, how much money is actually lost waiting for a review?  Had I been up on Adcenter and pay-per-view for these two particular campaigns, I would be spending at least $1,000 a day on each campaign.

Assuming everything goes as planned, traffic will begin sometime tomorrow.  But even if I do start spending $1,000 a day per campaign tomorrow, there has still been money lost over the weekend.  A text-book example of a sunk cost (cannot be recovered).

How much would it cost one of these huge companies to run a special team to handle these issues on the weekends?  How are affiliates who work day jobs suppose to scale their businesses when they’re left waiting for a review?  If calculated, how much more profitable would the search engines, advertisers, and even employees be if they were open on extended hours?

The Most Important Tip I Can Give You Going Into 2012

I spent this last weekend reflecting on accomplishments, failures and planned projects and much like all the years in the past I’ve been working online, I still draw the same conclusion each and every year. I figured since it was the holiday season, I would give away my most important tip. This is the tip I’ve repeated a million times online, offline, and in our seminars. Take from it what you will, I’ve seen the masses come and go. I’ve seen marketers post 7-figures months and within the same year, get it taken away or blow it all. One thing about the Internet is that people “want” to be told what to do. However, you can give them all the tips in the world and people are still going to do what it is THEY choose to do. That’s just the way people are.

If I told you my biggest tip for being successful online was to “create value and deliver it”, what would you take from that statement?

If I told you “creating value and delivering it” is what has fed my kids and allowed my businesses online to flourish for over a half-decade, what would you take from it?

If you were a part of the private forums and participated in our masterminds and seminars, and you hear me say it EVERY time yet haven’t done it yet, how many times will you have to hear me say it before it sinks in?

There’s no secrets here. Nobody owes you shit, and let me tell you you in this business, you’re only as good as the next great idea that surpasses you. I’ll keep this short and simple in this post so you can really ponder the words “create value and deliver it”. Every business and venture I’ve ever been a part of in my life that was considered a success offered some type of value and delivered it.

A lot of marketers will continue to be strung along the ropes. Hoping for that next great campaign that lasts 4 days with 400% ROI. If that’s your cup of tea, by all means have it. I sure did. I know, I’ve been there. Matter of fact, that’s really all I taught for the entire year in 2007 was the “short-term” cash methods. However, these days with regulations, traffic source restrictions and more and more people coming online everyday to learn EXACTLY what you are doing, the margins are becoming slimmer, the light is getting a little dimmer.

Creativity is key in this business. It doesn’t matter if you are affiliate or advertiser. You will most likely have some up n downs, and I guarantee if you take a step back and look at them, you’ll notice the “downs” are because there really is no value being given or delivered. This is incredibly easy to spot by seasoned marketers. I mean seriously, how valuable is that 7 page offer path to grab that free ipad that was promised? None. Zilch. Matter of fact, it’s probably in the negative. That offer path probably hurts your hard driven traffic more than it helps them.

Take a step back this week and look at your businesses. Re-evaluate and start placing strategies in place that will create value and then deliver it. I guarantee you will see improvement!

How to Double Your Subscriber Growth With 10 Minutes Work

It’s one of the most effective tactics used to grow internet empires yet there’s a good chance you’re not even using it. People who have been in the internet marketing world for a while now will know what I’m referring to, but for everyone else, allow me to introduce you to Split-Testing. The basis for another in-depth tutorial and exclusive ViperChill case study.

Split testing, in it’s simplest form, is testing elements of a web page against each other, to see which convince more visitors to perform a desired action. For example, you may want to see which eBook cover graphic on a free giveaway page tempts more people to give you their email address.

The reason that marketers like myself split test is pretty simple: We can make a lot more money and convert more visitors into subscribers, without having to get more traffic.

For a few years I strayed away from split testing, assuming that it was too complex for me to implement or I just wasn’t getting enough website visitors for it to matter. I was wrong. My income has increased dramatically thanks to split-testing, and it’s something you can implement on your website today with ease.

I’m going to first show you some of my own split test examples, then talk about how you can set-up split testing yourself, and finally cover which page elements I recommend that you test the most.
Squeeze Page Header Variations (DOUBLED Conversions)

There is a page on this site where I give away a free eBook on how I grew ViperChill to over 10,000 subscribers in 12 months. I send visitors to the page mostly through this site, but also through purchasing Solo Ads on Warrior Forum. I talk more about Solo Ads in this video if you want to learn more about them.

For this split test all I changed was the words in the headline of the page. Here is how they compared. Note: To interpret the following figures be aware that 54.2% means, for example, 54 out of every 100 visitors would convert (give away their email address) using this headline variation.

More on Click Discrepancies in Mobile

Recently I had made a large RON buy from unnamed network. Most of the traffic 90% was from APPs for Android. I picked .80 CPM based on my historic performance I thought I should earn 1.00 eCPM making me some money. Well I spent about $3,000 before I realized it wasn’t going to happen. My total eCPM was only .40… so I knew I had to do some digging.

I asked them to pass me site ids using my tracking link. I noticed there was HUGE variable in performance by site ID. Now I know what you’re thinking of course there’s variance between sites/apps where your ads appear: well we’re talking .25 epc vs .01 epc

So then I asked them to send me the Site ID report including impressions and clicks. I sorted that by number of impressions and was like wow this one site had tons of impressions and good CTR of 1.5% I should probably ask for more of that traffic. Then I was like lets see what my tracking showed. WTF traffic source sais 1500 clicks and I’m only showing 750. On top of that the CR was AWFUL.

Here are some more interesting findings I learned doing this analysis:

- The actual eCPM of site ids varied from .05 to 2.00 so yes you can yield high ROI from specific apps
- Click discrepancies also vary by apps with some having 50% discrepancy and others within 5%
- Some apps that reported clicks (over 500) not a SINGLE user actually came through my system

What is the conclusion on all this CLICK FRAUD IS RAMPANT. These free app guys are so hungry to make money that they are doing whatever it takes to make money and sending you the advertiser SHIT traffic.

What you can do to protect yourself besides use finger condoms:

- ALWAYS track pubs/site ids! If a network wants to sell you blind traffic unless you get your CPM so low that it wont matter, tell them to go F themselves
- Don’t rely on your ad rep to do optimizations for you. They are flying half blind
- Always use a 3rd party tracking to monitor results. Don’t trust the networks numbers alone.
- App traffic CAN make money, just harder to do while doing RON

Importance of offer landing page

One of the aspect most of newbie affiliates forget to consider while choosing offer to promote using their traffic is offer landing page . No matter you are using  your own lander or you are direct linking or i framing . Offer`s own landing page is which affects  conversions rate . Not long few days back i forgot to check landing page of an offer and that mistake cost me huge amount of money .i was just curious why i suffered so heavy loss and i tested same traffic with similar  traffic source and bingo  one of the offer with best offer landing page its ROI is 300% . what i just did was tested some more offers with different landing pages and blown up more money on same campaign where i lost a lot of money and what i got in return was an killing offer with 300% ROI . these days in my posts i am stressing a lot on “testing”. And i would like to say testing costs to every one , but you get back each and every cent when you have found your winners :D

Pick Your Poison: CPA Marketing

elcome to the first round of ‘Pick Your Poison’.

The ‘Pick Your Poison’ series is here to give you a basic (30,000ft. view) understanding of the various, most popular, income generating methods used by Internet marketers today.

It should also give you an idea as to whether or not it’s something you’d be interested in doing… after all, you didn’t get into IM to bore yourself stupid, did you?

It’s a lot easier to hit six figures when you enjoy what you’re doing!
Today’s profile… CPA

Method:
Cost-Per-Action (CPA)

Overview:
CPA Marketing is similar to Affiliate Marketing, in the sense you promote various offers and get paid a commission for each prospect you get to ‘take an action’.

Where it differs from traditional Affiliate Marketing however, is that for the most part instead of promoting actual products, you’ll be promoting things like ‘Free Trials’, or getting people to submit their email addresses, or their zip codes… these are what are known as ‘the actions’.

Basically, the Advertisers (the companies that provide the offer) use Publishers (that’s you!) to gather market data (e.g. zip codes), generate leads (e.g. email addresses) or get people to try their product or service in the hopes of gaining a new customer (e.g. free trials), among other things.

Another difference between CPA and traditional Affiliate Marketing is that you, the Publisher, probably won’t be working directly with the Advertiser.

Instead, you’ll be a part of a ‘CPA Network’, which acts as a middle man between you and the Advertiser, which makes things a lot easier for everyone.

The Advertiser will list their offer with the CPA Network, the CPA Network makes the offer available to the Publisher (you), and keep track of the successful ‘actions’ you provide. The CPA Network then gets paid, and in turn, they pay you.

How You Make Money:
The ‘cost’ in Cost-Per-Action is the cost to the Advertiser of paying the Publisher / CPA Network their commission for getting a prospect to complete an action.

The amount you get paid depends on the offer, and usually the payout is higher depending on the complexity of the offer.

For example, getting someone to submit their email address may only pay out a dollar or so, but people don’t mind giving out their emails so much, so you can convert a lot of prospects.

Getting someone to submit their credit card details for a free trial is a little tougher though, so the payouts are more along the lines of $25 and up.

Also, when you sign up to a CPA Network, you’ll usually get assigned an Affiliate Manager.

The Affiliate Manager will work with you directly to provide any support you need, because if you make money, they make money!

You should start developing a good relationship with your Affiliate Manager (sometimes referred to as an ‘AM’) because if things go well, you can negotiate even higher payouts, and get given access to the best offers not made available to everyone else.

Cost To Get Started:
If you’ve got a printer with an ink cartridge and a stack of paper, you could get started right away printing flyers for no cost whatsoever!

Otherwise you’ll probably need a website, which means the cost of a domain name and web hosting… so around $20 or so.

How Soon Will You See A Return:
You could start earning commissions the very same day! You only have to wait for your CPA Network’s ‘payday’, but they usually pay out every two weeks or so on average.

The payout intervals change with each Network and you can join more than one at a time. In fact that’s usually a good idea since different Networks have different offers.

Profit Potential:
You could complete your Six Figure Mission with CPA alone if you wanted to.

Think about it… if you’re promoting an offer that pays out $25, you only need 11 people to sign up each day to earn $275 and hit your $100,000+ per year.

If you’ve got flyers around town with 2,000 people passing by it every day, how hard to you think it will be to get just 11 people taking an interest?

Alternatively you could try getting around 200 email addresses online each day… which might seem like a lot… and it is, but if you’ve got 20 different websites running on autopilot, that brings the number down to only 10 emails per site, per day.

The best option? Mix it up a little with high end offers, low end offers, online and offline marketing.

General Activities:
The beauty of CPA Marketing is that it’s as simple to do offline as it is online.

Offline, you’re looking at using classified ads, posting flyers in town centers and college campuses, postcards and many more creative methods too… the list goes on.

Online, the most popular method is to put together a good squeeze page that makes the offer seem irresistible.

Alternatively, with a blog, a little keyword research and some good content, it’s not difficult to get to the top of Google’s front page for a whole heap of targeted traffic every day.

CPA is probably the most creative method of earning big with IM… so if you’re accustomed to ‘thinking outside the box’ then this could very well be your weapon of choice.

The 7 Deadly Sins of Dating Ad

I remain convinced that most dating affiliates lack the balls to really get aggressive with their advertising efforts.

Why is it important to be aggressive?

Remember this. If you’re in the dating niche, you’re not marketing to the trendsetters and early adopters. You’re marketing to the crusty old goats who have had many chances to register before, and have found many reasons not to bother.

Why do you suppose the 600+ login crowd on Plentyoffish is deemed to be low quality traffic? It’s mainly because such users have had the chance to be converted, and the moment has passed.

You have to be aggressive if you hope to enter such a competitive market and walk away with conversions.

For that purpose, I’m going to suggest you sit back and watch Se7en – a masterpiece of filmmaking and one of my favourite movies of all time.

No, I’m not implying that all of your dating creatives should be littered with quotes and photos of Brad Pitt. It’s the seven deadly sins that I’m interested in exploring. These sins provide valuable angles that we can use to get aggressive with our marketing efforts.

There’s a sinner in each and every one of us. And if you match the right pair of eyeballs to the right angle, your hopes of a conversion will rocket so far through the sky that you’ll begin to wonder why you wasted so much time spunking dollars on that whimsical “Oh hello darling, come join my dating site, It’s free” bullshit.

Who do you think you are? Hugo from Made in Chelsea?

Most dating affiliates seem to be experts in pandering to the proletarians, while the successful guys are busy exploiting them. That may be a cynical attitude towards life, but forgive me, I’m a cynical bastard and it’s early in the morning.

How is PPV Marketing Advantageous to Your Business?

As you spend thousands of dollars on magazine and newspaper advertisements, your profits are not increasing, do you know why? Newspaper and magazine adverts are great if you want to see your company’s name in print, but it doesn’t always reach your target audience.
In order to increase interest and sales, you need to reach your specific target audience and you can only do this by advertising in places that that audience visits or reads regularly. This is where PPV marketing comes in.
PPV marketing or pay per view marketing is designed to target your specific audience and increase interest and sales at an affordable price. The advantages far outweigh any cost you could spend to see your name in print and you are guaranteed success, if you follow the guidelines and take some time in preparation.
Everyone has experienced PPV marketing at some stage while using the internet. Maybe you’ve searched on a specific keyword or opened a webpage, only to find that another advert appears in a pop up box, which looks quite interesting and is related to your search so you go to investigate.
PPV marketing is a type of adware, this software is installed onto a person’s computer with their permission when they use free gaming sites. It is completely legal and is not a form of spyware, so please don’t get the two confused.
With PPV marketing you only pay when a potential client views your landing page or advert page, this way you are not paying costs unnecessarily and you are only paying when people from your target audience view your product.
The advantage of PPV marketing is you choose the keywords relating to your product and you decide which URL’s will have the most amount of traffic that will benefit from your product.
If you are marketing a pet product for example, finding websites that relate to pets are good to promote your product. The same as the keywords you will choose will all relate to pets.
You are in complete control of the marketing; you design your own landing page. A colorful and captivating advert is usually the best option, then you submit your keywords to your provider and every time a client types in a keyword you have chosen or clicks on a URL in your list, your advert will appear in a separate pop up box.
The aim of PPV marketing is to increase traffic and sales. The advantages shown prove that this type of marketing is beneficial in comparison to magazine, newspaper and television adverts, which are expensive.
Let’s recap the advantages of PPV marketing for you:
1.    You choose your target audience
2.    You are in complete control at all times
3.    You design your own advert landing page
4.    You only pay when a client views your page
5.    It is cheaper than pay per click advertising
6.    It is much cheaper than newspaper or magazine advertising
7.    You decide what keywords and URL’s will be beneficial to your marketing efforts
8.    It is not spyware, but is marketing with the clients full permission
If you are looking for an affordable way to promote your business or product, then PPV marketing is what you are looking for, with unique advantages to help you achieve more website traffic andWhen considering the right type of marketing for your business, you need to also determine what is cost effective and will promote your product or service to a large audience.
Affiliate marketing has been the most cost effective marketing choice for many years, enabling you to market your product or service through an affiliate who directs clients to your website, better known as PPC, pay per click advertising.
Now PPV has been introduced, an even cheaper and more effective marketing option to choose from. PPV stands for Pay Per View and I guarantee you that you have seen this unique marketing at some stage when searching the internet.
PPV is basically adware. You pay every time your website or landing page is viewed. The customer does not click on a link to access the information but when they type a certain keyword or open up a certain browser, you advert appears on their computer in a pop up screen.
This is an intrusive form of advertising, but it is not considered as Spyware and is completely legal. It is not worse than PPC, which you may be thinking, but is a great form of advertising and to get your product or service known.
It is easy to set up once you have done your initial research. You first need to choose keywords or URL’s that relate to your specific product or service, you then place a bid on these keywords and URL’s. Once a customer types in a keyword you have chosen or types in the URL you have bidden on, your advertisement will pop up on their screen.
The benefit of this kind of marketing is that you can target your advertising to the right audience; you can also get advertising at a much cheaper price than if you chose PPC advertising and you can set your frequency cap. Setting your frequency cap ensures that one person doesn’t get your advert so many times they consider it as spam.
You can choose to market your website or landing page, the landing page can be a well-designed and catchy advert, which will captivate your audience with the intention of them wanting to know more and click onto your website.
PPV marketing is considered the cheapest form of marketing available on the internet at the moment. It gives you the ability to target your audience and appear on their computer screens when they search for something along the similar lines to your product or service.
Joining an Affiliate Network and growing your customer base is easier than you think. Taking advantage of PPV marketing and using an affiliate on a PPC can be advantageous, if taken together. This way you increase your website traffic and sales without the expense of newspaper, radio or television marketing.
Everyone knows newspaper adverts can be a costly affair, as can radio and television adverts. Being able to market your product without much effort from yourself, giving you time to concentrate on your business, is the best marketing solution to any business owner.
